‘“Come to the edge,” he said.
They said, “We are afraid.”
“Come to the edge,” he said.
They came.
He pushed them…and they flew.’ – Guillame Apollinaire
It is human nature
to underestimate what you can do. Like the fellows Monsieur Apollinaire
referred to, it is easier for most folks to stick with what they know. The
problem with the tested and tried is that it has made many go to the grave
filled with potential. A greater tragedy I know not.
The truth is, you are capable of more than everything
you have done so far… Potential
is simply what you can be or do that you have not yet become or done. Oh, you
have made progress? It is little compared to what you are capable of; if you
have killed a lion, move on to a bear then a giant, the destination is the
throne, remember?
My questions to you:
Who are you meant to be?
Who are you right now?
What can you do?
What are you doing
right now?
If you answer those
questions truthfully, you will most likely see a disparity between who and
where you are and what you are capable of (becoming). The way to bridge that
gap is to get to work. Even if there is no guarantee that you will attain your
dream peaks, be motivated by the fact that you will not be where you were. Today
is the currency that purchases the tomorrow of your dreams. What are you doing
with it?
Spread-Fly Formula
- · Identify [what you are about]
- · Initiate [get up and do something about your dreams]
- · Improve [skill is what sells, talent is a dime a dozen]
- · Institutionalize [create a system that is self-perpetuating]
You have watched
others fly for too long. You have helped enough people find their wings. Even
if the latter were your calling, there is no reason you cannot spread yours and
fly alongside them.
Heaven knows the sky
is large enough for all of us.
Welcome to your
future!
