Influence II

The statement by Paul of Tarsus, "Don’t let anyone deceive you. Associating with bad people will ruin decent people," is a fine way to continue on the subject of influence (we started last time).
So long as you are alive, there will be people and things fighting to influence you. You will submit to some!

In light of that, does it not make sense to choose Who, What & How? In order to strategically pick the influences that influence you, subject them this Litmus Test:

• Do they have credibility?
How can you tell?
- Track record
- Authenticity
- Relationship with/treatment of people (above & beneath them)

• Do they have integrity?
How can you tell?
- Character
- Reliability
- Humility

• Do they care about you?
How can you tell?
- Investment of time
- Belief in you and encouragement
- More concerned about your future than your today

In conclusion, here are influencing tactics to avoid:
| Manipulating
| Intimidating
| Threatening

Succeeding is enough work without compounding it with bad influences. So, locate positive influences (they position and propel you) and never, ever be without them!

Welcome to your future!
