Fear Factor

Top of the day to you.

I am sure you are going after your goals fangs-bared and with gusto. I believe you will not only meet them but surpass them. Did I hear an Amen? Good!

This is for those who are a little bit fretful and not sure how to proceed. It is also for you, yes YOU; on those days when fear has you in a chokehold. When you have done all but things are not lining up and that little voice (from hell) is whispering to you that you won’t make it or this is the sum of who you are.

Fear is a phenomenal factor in human affairs. What is it?

In addition to the well-known definition of False Evidence Appearing Real, fear is equally:
A distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain et al, whether the threat is real or imagined.
Anxious concern.
The feeling or condition of being afraid.
The power fear exerts on human beings can be multilateral…
Spiritual:
  • Fear stifles thoughts and actions
  • Fear creates doubt
  • Fear is a roadblock to God’s plans for His children
  • Fear leads to destructive habits
  • Emotional:
Fear makes you want to…

  • Fight
  • Flee
  • Freeze
  • Feign non-involvement

Physiological:

  • Fear reduces or shuts down functions not needed for survival
  • Fear sharpens functions that aid survival
  • Fear weakens the immune system
  • Fear induces palpitations
  • Fear causes weakness
  • Fear increases the flow of hormones that help focus on the present danger and STORES IT IN YOUR MEMORY
  • Fear accelerates ageing and even premature death

Consider: the hazards of risk misperception may be more significant than the very risk about which you fret.

Welcome to your future!
