Convoluted

Your first words ensnared me. After that, nothing stayed the same.

You were driving out of the supermart where I was a security guard when you looked me in the eye and spoke words that became burned into my soul and set it on fire.

"You should not be here. And, if it is up to me you won't."

It sent a thousand volts coursing through my system. I smiled, uncertain what the right response was. Your vehicle rolled past then stopped. Manicured fingers beckoned, I went. You gave me your complimentary card.

You picked the call on its first ring, even though two days had passed since our initial encounter. You told me to come to the office.
The trepidation -- the same reason I'd not called -- increased. Stories of well-to-do ladies turning young, virile, men into service providers abound, I didn't want that for me.

Anyway, at your office I landed.

You were the picture of charm. I was uneasy. Then a man walked in.
"Hun, that's the guy I told you about."
"The one you have plans for?"
"Uh huh"
"I see."
I didn't see: what was going on here?

You turned to me and said, "My husband."
I did not know my sigh of relief was audible till you started laughing.
"Calm down." You said, with a shake of the head.
Your husband came over, shook my hand and asked, " How are you?"
"Fine."
"No. How are you, really? How has life been?"

The question threw me. It took some time before I began to answer. Hesitantly and haltingly, my story poured out.

You were fighting tears when I was done, your husband had a strange look on his face.
"You see?" You asked him.
"Yea, He never lies."
I was at sea, again.
"So, can I do as is in my heart?" You asked your husband.
"By all means baby."

From your office, I went to tender my resignation with immediate effect. I began to manage your farm on the outskirts of town. It turns out God had spoken to your heart to show me kindness.

When you proved me reliable, you increased my responsibility. And the perks.

That was two plus years ago.

My life has been drastically altered for the better from that encounter.

The problem madam, is that I have fallen for you. It was not intentional but it happened. But, far be it from me to pursue it.

The keys are in the usual place, the accounts are in order. This mail is to explain.

Good bye.
