Intentional neglect (IN) is, saying no to good things so you can say yes to the best. You have to consciously decide to disregard things–and even folks– that would keep you from that which you have identified as key. Focus on a particular culmination then push for it with all your strength and ignore whatever does not lead to that goal. Les Hewitt said, “Successful people don’t drift to the top. It takes focused action, personal discipline, and lots of energy every day to make things happen.” That is what you need: focused action. Work on that priority and snub everything else until it is accomplished…
The beautiful thing about Intentional Neglect is this, it creates for you the blind sides that provoke success. Wolfgang Mozart said, “The shorter way to do many things is to do only one thing at a time.” Who is an expert but one who has focused on a given field and, without undue concern for others, mastered it. To become really proficient at your thing [whatever that is] you have to become truly adept at what you do and make exchanges that advance your cause. Both factors are important. You have to do your ‘one thing’ well–very well in fact. Then engage in trade offs that increase the size and depth of your holding…
And before you can say Jack, voila, you've made it.
See you at the top
