Electricity is a feature of modern life and a parameter for measuring development.
In fact, the world is moving from fossil fuels to using electricity to power 'most everything.
The applications are numerous, as are the benefits.
The flip side, is that electricity can also be dangerous: dangerous to the power of fatality.
Zeroing in on the home front, electricity presents danger from damaged sockets, exposed wiring, current leakage, overloaded fuses/sockets, improper wiring, non-earthing etc.
Except in rare cases, electricity incidents do not just happen. There would have been signs.
Some minor shocks, melting of sockets or fuses, current leaks, smoking or burning wire or wiring (that you devised a means of managing).
The point is, do not take electricity for granted. Take all necessary precautions to keep it contained. In that state it will serve you well. Otherwise, the story will be quite different.
Stay safe!
