Perspectives

It was all a matter of perspectives, as far as he was concerned.

The president's adviser on religious and spiritual affairs had just offered advice that was not only improbable but near impossible.

He wanted to counter the notion but he thought better of it. He would not allow himself get into a debate over what he knew from learning and experience.

Before becoming economic adviser, he'd been been an economist for many years.

In fact, he was in the classroom imparting knowledge, when the president took note and pulled him from academia to national politics. A testament that he knew his onions.

Then he had another thought, if he let the matter slide, he'd be allowing a wrong seed germinate.

He owed it to the president not allow that.

The adviser probably believed what he said but it was his own view.

A perspective that lacked empirical basis and was not to be trusted.

He spoke: “That can't happen—not even if the Lord himself were to send grain at once!”

“You will see it happen, but you won't get to eat any of the food.” The other responded.

The events of the next twenty-four hours proved the economic adviser wrong.

He lost his life in the process.
