There will come seasons when nothing is going according to plan. Things get more challenging when such a period is protracted.
When we were younger, we did not have many playgrounds around. But anytime, we were opportuned to visit one, we never missed the swing. We did not mind waiting turns. The adrenaline surge of going as high as possible was pure joy that produced shrieks of fear and ecstasy.
In later years, I realised one thing: in life, you will take your turn on the swing. And in the same way it can go all the way up, it can come all the way down. Both times of bliss and fear will come.
The swing basically has two motions: up and down. In life, you will have both. It is not personal, it is just the way of things.
So, when you hit a low and the rough patch lasts longer than you expected, find a way to survive. The fact is that the tide will turn...with or without input from you. What came down will go up!
Do what you can to outlast the season. It is strategic to use the period in the doldrums to plan and prepare for when you are back on your feet. It gives you an edge... something you can ride the momentum with and propel yourself even further.
But whatever you do or do not, stick around long enough for the swing to head up again. The high more than compensates for the low.
Welcome to your future!
