Bad Fear, Good Fear

Fear is bad!

When it is the sort that is terrifying and debilitating, that gets you stuck in place (too scared to move or act).

This kind of fear is limiting and builds a cage around people's natural desires to dream and dare. It would cause a person to cower before what they have capacity to prosecute.

Unchecked it can become paranoia: a pit of darkness, shadows and distrust from which much work is required to rise.

Fear is good!

When it produces in you the desire to do something to alter the state of things.

What one is afraid of can birth creativity or motivation to take unusual steps to escape that threatening condition or situation. In this instance, a person opts to act in spite of, or in opposition to, their fear.

Thus, courage is birthed and great deeds done on the back of fear.

Fear-induced perspiration and palpitations are okay.

What matters is how you respond to the fear. Does it cripple you, or does it enable you?
Does it blind you to possibilities or does it open your eyes to opportunities. Does it make you wish someone would make it go away or does it make you wonder how you can turn it around?

Whether fright or fight is a product of nature, experience and decision. Due to these factors, the same stimulus can elicit different reactions from people (slink away for forty days or become a champion overnight).

It, really, is up to you.

Welcome to your future!
