nCorV is new, in and of itself. It has not only precipitated new ways of doing things, it has ushered in new crime methods.
While the crimes may not be new, same cannot be said for the methodology. For example: 'One Million Boys' (a gang of numerous males (youths) that rob as a group. Robbers dressing up as medical workers to gain access to targets. Scams involving disbursement of 'financial palliatives'. Snatch and grabs, and armed robbery.
The pattern seems to be hunger-induced crime. Yet, the fact remains that it is only when opportunity mates with intent that crimes are committed.
There is another part: career criminals cashing in on this to do their thing.
In any of the instances, for those affected by these acts, it is no walk in the park.
Let us not go into whether you think law enforcement agencies are doing enough or not. We all know the conditions under which they operate.
The irony of this period is that while security presence is being heightened, actual security is deteriorating.
These are real issues that have no solution at the moment. Maybe it is enough that you are aware. Maybe it will serve as a call to action. Maybe. Maybe...
