That is a simple formula that is guaranteed to land you in the big leagues. When you consider it, those two parts are critical to making anything significant out of your life.
First; in what areas are you naturally gifted? What is it that gets your juices flowing? What is it you have a predilection for? Uncover it and stay with it till you make it a marketable skill that is honed to the point of profitability. The mistake many make is that they major on their weaknesses, trying to shore them up. It makes more sense to focus on your strong points and delegate the rest.
Second; as David DeNotaris said, “People are busy accomplishing their own dreams, so your dreams are left up to you. When you decide – that's a key word – to take care of your dreams, things start to happen.” Nothing worthwhile happens around you until you begin to chase your dreams. Anything that will be worth anything that will happen to you will be in the place of pursuing your dreams.
Dream the dream, write it down, set a timeline for its attainment and daily take steps that lead to the achievement.
And if you fall or fail in the process?
It is all good.
Thomas Carlyle, it was who said, “Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.”
Even if you are going through the roughest patch ever, keep going. It is the quickest way out of it. It is also a beautiful way of developing muscles and fortitude of character.
And that is the stuff that makes winners.
Welcome to your future!
