When I am trying to get to know people, one question I tend to ask is: "What makes you glad, what makes you sad, what makes you mad?" The responses range from shallow to well-thought-out.
But that is not the subject tonight. The last part of that question is what has my attention.
Let me ask: what irks you? People, their character, misdeeds, flagrant disregard, callousness, injustice? There is a gamut of things that can draw a person's ire. What gets to you?
And how do you handle?
There are two things a person should never be angry at: what they can do something about and what they cannot.
In the first case, do all you can to alter the state you do not find desirable. Rather than get provoked, provoke a change.
When it comes to what you cannot change, smile and take it in stride. No point raising your blood pressure.
Welcome to your future!
