6000 Bricks

I saw a post the other day that I hope never to get over: "If you are having a bad day, remember that we unloaded six thousand bricks in the wrong address."

Pause for a minute and let that sink in. Consider the amount of work that goes into unloading bricks. Now extend that into 6000. Then imagine all that effort wasted because it was expended at the wrong address. Meaning they'd have to reverse that whole process then go repeat it at the right address.

The fact is that some days are like that.

There are days when you are on cloud nine. Then there are those when you are in the valley. The one thing to remember is that in life nothing lasts forever. It all comes and goes...in circles and cycles. The dakness will give way to brightness and the light ultimately wanes.

There was a time in my life when I missed the opportunity to work at the US embassy because I did not have, and (worse still) could not raise 2,500 NGN to enable me process a driver's licence.

Those days are gone. But at the time, it was almost impossible to see beyond the gloom that threatened to overwhelm me.

When it looks like your condition is the worst, remind yourself that you do not know everyone else's situations. If you did, you just might realize that yours pales before theirs.

And if that fails, at least it is not you who unloaded 6K bricks at the wrong location.

Welcome to your future!
