world dominion checklist

Everybody has a world domination dream. The difference is in the size of the world targeted. For some it is the world in the literal sense of the word, for others it is gaining mastery over themselves and for others, they just want a measure of relevance and impact that will outlive them. Whichever it is, you can bring your world-dominion dreams to pass.

In the book of Genesis, Chapter 37, Joseph had a dream. 4 verses later, he had another one. It would take four chapters, seventeen years and many experiences before that dream came to pass. And overnight–to those who do not know better–Joseph became a sensation. He ascended to leadership in Egypt at a time when it was not just the world superpower but also the most advanced in terms of civilization. As if that was not enough, he occupied a position that hitherto had been non-existent–prime minister, second only to Pharaoh himself. Most of us have envied Joseph, commended him (and his resilience and uprightness) as well as queried how we would have fared under like circumstances. The thing is this, Joseph had to go through a school few have ever passed through and he graduated with flying colours–from pit to Potiphar’s house through prison to the palace. As it is common to humans, especially when all is well, the arrival at the destination made light of the process to it.

The question, however, is: If Joseph had had to itemize the steps that would lead him to the throne, how would he have written them down? Do you suppose he would have chosen these steps and stages that saw him to the destination that God had mapped out for, and shown to, him?

• Get in the field: Would Joseph have deliberately chosen to leave the comfort of his father’s presence and the familiarity as well as privileges of home to venture to the field where his brothers kept sheep…which journey marked the end of life as he knew it?

• Get rid of daddy’s coat: What are the chances that Joe would have opted to lose the peculiar and distinguishing coat of many colours that was not just part of his identity but also a thing of pride–his one up on his brethren? • Get alone to find God for myself: Would Jose ordinarily have chosen to take some time out and be in the pit, without food or water, looking only up–to God; from whence comes his help?

• Get to know how much I am worth presently: What is the likelihood that Joey would choose to be sold as a slave in order to ascertain his current market value as opposed to that which he saw in his mind?

• Get to serve in order to lead right: Would Joseph have taken the slave–prisoner service route as the means through which he’d acquire the education that’d qualify him to lead many, and the world?

It is doubtful that he would have made this kind of checklist. Yet, it was exactly what was needed for the actualization of his dreams and to bring him next to number one in the number one nation in the then world. For you, who are keen on becoming all that you are designed to be–whether your big picture is global, national or even local–you will need to work your way through this checklist, in differing degrees and tailored-to-fit circumstances.

See you at the top.
