Lessons on Life's Lemons

It is said that when life hands you lemons you should make lemonade. That may sound cliche and untenable for some (who can find no sugar or water to add to said lemon). Yet, the basic idea is that you have a choice what you do with any circumstance and a measure of control over what follows.

Life is a master at upsetting people and plans. Sometimes without warning. The earlier one recognizes this as a given, the better for them. It helps you shift your mind from what is outside of your control to those within your remit. And those include your state of mind, and reaction to stuff.

When you encounter what you cannot do much about, focus on the ones you can influence and start from there. Over time, other factors will shift and positively impact upon the gamut.

Here's how to respond to life's lemons:
✓Understand that they will come your way (you cannot avoid them)
✓Assess the lemon for any upsides (explore those, where they exist)
✓Examine what parts of the set you have any power over (start from there to work your way up and out)
✓Keep at it till other factors begin to  align (in your favour)
✓Leverage (on whatever can reduce or convert the volume of lemons you get to deal with)

Welcome to your future!
