The Power of Restlessness

When we were younger, parents used to have major issues with (their) children who were deemed restless. Even now there is a term for them: kerosene.

As a result many young persons stifle their verve in order to conform. The restlessness that leads to discoveries is suppressed till it is lost and then another compliant robo-being is created.

While studying one day, I learnt something that shifted something (in me): Isaac intentionally thrust his, over 40 years old, son on the path of restlessness.

When Esau had lost everything that would have made him somebody, his father gave him a sliver of a chance that depended on nobody: when you grow restless.

It was all he needed to come into his own. To the extent that he had four hundred men on his payroll and enough to be able to tell his brother to hold onto his gifts.

It all started when he became restless.

If you are okay with what is, you will not change it. Until you get dissatisfied and restless, what you permit will persist.

Consider that the reason the body takes in oxygen is because it is not satisfied with the present level. Dissatisfaction holds the key to life and growth; restlessness holds the key to advancement and impact.
