So, you made it to 2018? Congratulations!
Now you owe it to you to live. Note, live, not exist.
And to that end you should have goals to motivate you,
targets to aspire to and roadmaps to help you navigate. Oh? You already have
plans? Great!
Are they specific; clearly spelling out the nature and
endpoint without ambiguity? Are they measurable; broken down into bite-sized
chunks with detailed steps leading to the attainment? Are they attainable;
whilst being challenging and calling you up higher are they realistic? Are they
relevant; pertinent to who you are and what you are about (otherwise pursuit
becomes drudgery instead of a thing of passion)? Are they time-bound; having
appointed times of achievement (for goals without timelines are mere wishes)?
Hmm...Now that you think of it, do they seem more like (new
year) resolutions?
Not an issue. Sit with them and rework them using the
questions above. Also ensure that you have goals for different facets of your
life: finance, career, health, relationship, personal development, spiritual
growth etc. And write them as affirmative statements that have already
happened.
As one whose goals have been written (down) and handy for
reference, for nearly a decade, I only recently inculcated some of these things
and I can tell you they make a difference. Do same, I guarantee you you will
like the outcome.
Get ready, aim and fire. Fire again and again until you
conquer.
Welcome to your future!
